The Tween Library Council met together during each grade level lunch today and came up with some amazing ideas! Formerly known as Book Club, the Tween Library Council (or TLC as we'll often refer to it throughout the year) is book club with a twist. Like a traditional book club, we will still be reading and discussing great books, but we will also be participating in volunteer activities and helping to organize library events for fellow students. Our goal is to read great books, better our school community, and encourage others to become readers. Our group meets during lunch in the media center, no less than once a month (more often at times!). 56 students in grades 6-8 participated in a "working lunch" today and were given the opportunity to brainstorm with each other about literary-related activities and events they'd like to see this year. The ideas were phenomenal and we are all so excited to meet back together soon to start fine-tuning some of these suggestions. Students who would like to remain active members are reminded to:
As always, don't hesitate to see Mrs. Keefer with any questions!
