With just one week left to get those Read Your Way to the Big Game submissions in, Mrs. Norwood's class has pulled to the lead. Who will stay on top? Keep reading and we'll find out October 31st!
The Tween Library Council held our October meeting today during each grade level lunch. 57 students showed up to today's meeting and we had a great time celebrating the hard work that students put into last month's Book Drive, Book Fair, and shelf displays. We also looked forward to next month and spoke about upcoming events including the culminating Read Your Way to the Big Game events, next month's issue of the Loo Review, and this week's remaining Teen Read Week activities. Students also had a chance to vote on their favorite TLC t-shirt design (links to order shirts will be up next week - check back!). Finally, we all went Trick or Treating ... book style! The winning genres for next month are:
Don't forget to review your book in Destiny before next month's meeting! See Mrs. Keefer if you need any help. Great work, TLC! Here is your score update, Mustangs! Will Ms. Chesser's class maintain their lead? Can Clemson fans and 6th grade hold on to the top spot? You still have a few more weeks to get those reading logs in ... forms are due back to Mrs. Keefer by Halloween. Door decorating begins Monday!
Teen Read Week is coming! TRW begins Tuesday, October 11th and runs through Friday, October 14th. The Tween Library Council has helped plan some fun activities for everyone - we hope you'll join us! Each activity will take place in the media center, during each lunch. Please eat your lunch in the cafeteria first and be prepared to sign in with your agenda in the media center once you arrive. See Mrs. Keefer with any questions.
Job well done, Mustangs! We collected over 1,400 books during our two week S.T.O.C.K. the Shelves Book Drive to benefit schools impacted by the recent Louisiana flooding. The Springfield Sluggers came in as our top team with 367 books donated, followed closely by Triple Threat with 347. In third place are the Grand Slammers with 170. Great job paying it forward! |
