Several 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students proudly represented Springfield Middle at the SC Read-In this morning. Our students joined over 1,500 students from around the state who assembled on the State House grounds to celebrate the importance of reading and libraries. We dressed as our favorite book characters (Tris, Katniss, Hermione, Stargirl, Lena, Annabeth, a handful of Shadowhunters, and many others were in attendance!) and began our day with a parade down Senate Street from the SC State Library. Students enjoyed a great program at the State House, received complimentary books from Cocky's Reading Express, and read together on the lawn.
